That’s where our decades of hands-on experience in the feasibility, design, formation and, importantly, ongoing administration of SFDs, becomes invaluable. SFDs include benefit assessments, special taxes and other property-related fees and charges.

    • Fee Studies & Cost Allocation Plans

      Municipalities require stable funding, and a wide range of fees are necessary. That’s where we come in. A User Fee Study identifies the “estimated and reasonable” costs of providing governmental services or infrastructure, and implements fee amounts in line with laws and local policies. Cost Allocation Plans allocate an agency’s overhead costs to the programs, services and activities provided to the public.

      As communication is paramount, the NBS team developed CivicMic. The focus is on providing collaborative governance services including outreach, public engagement, and adaptive management, bringing citizen voices into the governance process.
